What are you waiting for

Bloggers & Storytellers

At KultureShockwi.com we are looking for serious and passionate Caribbean writers, historians, storytellers and curators of Caribbean culture.

All bloggers, professional and contributors, are welcome to submit feature-length stories, shorts or reviews on events, albums, movies, theatre, fashion etc.

Professional Bloggers will be paid for commissioned or accepted feature-length Stories / Articles.

Stories should be well researched and written, easy to follow and offer unique insights into our culture. We also encourage creativity, humour, patois, kreole and personal anecdotes to further connect with the reader.

Our audience is both the seasoned consumer of Caribbean content and individuals new to our culture. Writers should be able to engage this diverse audience by blending vibrant and entertaining writing with a thoughtful and informative approach on the chosen subject.

Stories should be pertinent to the region and/or its diaspora. Stories on Caribbean culture, history, arts and entertainment, fashion, profiles and current events are welcome.

We consider Shorts (short stories) and Reviews to be under 400 words and Feature Articles / Stories to be 1000 to 1200 words. It is up to the discretion of the writer to submit a longer piece.

All photos should be  .jpg and at least 500 x 500 pixels.
We recommend using MP4 video files, with a minimum recommended resolution of 720p or higher. (The H.264 codec is generally best). For longer videos, we recommend you add a YouTube Link.
All media should be clearly captioned.

Upon submission, the Editor, KultureShock WI, may request minor changes to the article. Where extensive editing may be required, the editor reserves the right to request the piece be rewritten by the author.

All stories may be edited/updated by the author via the dashboard at any time. Once an article has been edited or updated, we request that the author make it known to the readers.
